About the Project

Jirgens Civil was engaged to undertake the transformation of Burton Street Mall in Vincentia, a pivotal community space in the heart of the region. The project focuses on enhancing the mall’s infrastructure to provide a welcoming, functional, and modern public area. The upgrades aim to improve accessibility, aesthetics, and overall utility for residents and visitors, fostering a vibrant community hub.

Scope

The Burton Street Mall Upgrade project involved comprehensive construction and streetscape improvements, including:

Construction of a new amenities block, providing modern facilities for mall visitors.
Installation of new stormwater drainage systems to ensure effective water management.
Construction of seven new stairs and pedestrian ramps for improved accessibility and flow.
Creation of three new pedestrian crossings, enhancing safety for mall users.
Installation of class one curved concrete feature walls, adding an architectural element to the mall.
Laying of 1,500 sqm of new asphalt pavement and 1,500 sqm of exposed finished concrete, ensuring durability and visual appeal.
Paving of 300 sqm with custom-built designs, integrating functionality with design.
Construction of a 100 sqm timber stage for community events and performances.
Installation of new street lighting, street furniture, and planting with irrigation, enhancing the public space.
A children’s interactive water feature was included to engage younger visitors.
