In collaboration with MI Engineers, Jirgens developed a design that was both aesthetically appealing and resilient enough to withstand the harsh marine conditions. The platform’s substructure and handrails were fabricated by Madge Welding and Fabrication using high-quality galvanized materials, ensuring long-lasting durability. The deck surface was constructed with APR composite decking, providing a sustainable, low-maintenance solution.
The project also involved the installation of interconnecting footpaths for improved accessibility, along with access-limiting fencing to enhance safety. The final touches included comprehensive landscaping to integrate the platform harmoniously with the surrounding environment.
The completion of the Penguin Heads Viewing Platform marks a significant upgrade to the area, providing visitors with a safe, durable, and visually appealing space to enjoy the stunning coastal views. The collaboration between Jirgens, MI Engineers, and Madge Welding ensures that the platform not only meets aesthetic and functional requirements but also stands up to the challenges of the marine environment for years to come.
